Clara Jane Lawrence, age 87, died on November 3, 2024 at Heartford House in Owensboro, Ky. She was born in Lansing, NC on February 28, 1937 to Lettie Magnus Testerman. She was a member of Mt. Zion Community Church and was involved with jail ministry and visited with the elderly and shut-ins. Clara enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, gardening and tending her flowers. One thing for certain, Clara always had a meal ready as she enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Lawrence; her son, Cecil Wayne Hensley and grandson, Jacob Lee Lawrence.
Clara is survived by her children:
Edward R. Lawrence, Jr, Ricky Melvin Lawrence, Steven Elwood Lawrence of Aberdeen, MD
Randy Alan Lawrence (Penny) of Oklahoma
Robert Barry Lawrence of Nebraska
Ronald Lee Lawrence, I (Angie) of Hardinsburg, KY
Bonnie Fay Stone (Raymond) of Melbourne, FL
Brenda Kay Armstrong of Falls of Rough, KY
27 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren & 1 Great-Great-Grandchild
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Community Church
Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10-1 PM
Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery
