Clara T. Lewis

Clara T. Taylor Lewis, 90 years old of Guilford, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Born and raised in Guilford, she graduated from Guilford High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart, Richard. Clara and Richard raised a family just across the street from where Clara grew up. She had a big heart and her family was the most important thing in her life. Clara loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She was a very active member of Tanner Valley United Methodist Church. Clara helped with all the meals, sent cards to people that were sick, and helped wherever she was needed.
Clara will be deeply missed by her children Jennifer (Matthew) Brackney, Jeff (Susan) Lewis, and Matt (Kathy) Lewis; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Bernadette Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by Richard, her husband of 60 years; son Mark Lewis; siblings Chuck Taylor and Martha Oehlman; and parents Susie Ewbank Taylor & Frank Taylor.
Services for Clara will be held on Saturday, November 18 at Tanner Valley United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00am - 2:00pm with the funeral service starting at 2:00pm. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to Tanner Valley United Methodist Church and West Fork Cemetery.
