Clara Barbara Oblon
Clara Barbara Oblon, 98, beloved wife of the late Joseph Oblon, passed away peacefully at the Connecticut Baptist Home on Saturday, December 13, 2025, following a short illness.
She was born on November 14, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Raczkowska) Godek, and was raised in Berlin, Connecticut. In 1947, she married her husband Joseph, and together they settled in Meriden, where they raised their family.
Clara was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus Parish and, together with her husband, instilled a deep and enduring Catholic faith in their children. Her family is profoundly grateful for the gift of faith she gave them and for her tireless dedication to raising such a large and loving family.
Clara is survived by her children: Marie Levy of Windsor; Joseph Oblon and his wife Jackie of Hebron; Ted Oblon of Meriden; Ronald Oblon and his wife Cynthia of Middlefield; Diane Schaffer and her husband Mark of Washington; and Patricia Richards and her husband Mike of Meriden. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Melissa, Jeffrey, Brian, Elizabeth, Joseph, Mary, Rebecca, and Catherine; and two great-grandchildren, Jayla and James.
In addition to her husband, Clara was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary Ann; her son-in-law, Barry; and her four sisters and brother.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Faustina Parish, St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron Street, Meriden, CT 06450 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 10:00 am. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
