It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Clara Margaret
(Waczovszky) Renner, who departed this life on September 17, 2025, at the
age of 91.
Clara was born on December 1, 1933, in Budapest, Hungary. She grew up
during a time of great hardship and resilience. Following the end of World War
II, she courageously immigrated to the United States with her father, mother,
and sisters in search of safety, opportunity, and a brighter future. Her journey
reflected the strength, determination, and hope that would come to define her
life.
Once in the United States, Clara and her family settled into Cleveland, Ohio,
with a robust Hungarian community. Clara built a life centered on family and
faith. She carried with her the traditions of her Hungarian roots while
embracing the promise of a new beginning. Clara married Adam Renner on
August 6, 1955. They had their first 2 children, Clara and Thomas, in Cleveland,
Ohio. In 1961, Adam accepted a job in Springfield, VA and the family moved. In
1967 Clara had a son, Edward, and a daughter, Amy, in 1970. Clara's passions
in life were her children, her many animals, and her love of camping.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Renner; her parents,
Alexander and Matilda Waczovszky; her sister, Matilda Summers; her son,
Thomas Renner; and her granddaughter, Jamaica Renner. She is survived by
her son, Edward Renner, Sparks NV; and her daughters, Clara Casey, Elkridge
MD and Amy Renner, West Friendship MD; 9 grandchildren; 22 great
grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mary Jeromas and Ann Kho.
Clara's life was a testament to tenacity and grit. She will be deeply missed by all
who had the privilege of knowing her and her memory will be forever cherished.
