Clara Victoria Sands passed away on November 15, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma. Born on July 1, 1935, in Westcliffe, Colorado, Clara lived a life rich in creativity and familial devotion.
As a proud member of the Enid Art Association, Clara expressed her artistic talents through her love for painting and creating pastel portraits. Her artistic endeavors were complemented by her passion for sewing and playing the guitar. Clara's legacy is beautifully woven into the lives of her family, especially as she enjoyed looking after her grandchildren and fostering deep connections among her loved ones.
Clara was surrounded by a loving family that included her brother, Willis Johnson, and her children: Robert Sands, Jimmy Sands and Patsy, Larry Sands and Rita, David Sands, Greg Sands and Sherri, and Tina Etter and Allan. Her family extended further through her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her nurturing presence.
Clara's passing is mourned by her family, who carry her spirit forward, cherishing the memories of her vibrant life dedicated to both art and family. She joins her late parents, Earl and Clara Johnson, her beloved husband George, her son Richard, daughter-in-law Pamela Sands, and her brothers Ed, Chuck, and Lee in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing her.
A viewing for Clara will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home in Helena, Oklahoma. A funeral service will take place Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Jet Church of the Nazarene in Jet, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
