Clara Summerford

MERIDIAN, MS, formerly of Fulton--Clara Riley Summerford, 73, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Diversicare in Meridian. She was born October 16, 1951 to the late George Nolan Riley and the late Ruby Jane Justice Riley in Fulton. She worked as a medical secretary for many years in health care industry. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Clara enjoyed, reading, watching soap operas, westerns, The Andy Griffith Show, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Thursday January 9, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home. There will be no public funeral service. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Sean Dee Summerford of Meridian; granddaughters, Alana Nicole Summerford, and Josie Summerford; sister, Janet Funderburk of Fulton; brothers, Charles Riley of Fulton, Randy (Heidi) Riley of Greenwood, MS, and Roger Riley of Tupelo; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Summerford; son, Christopher James Summerford; parents, George Nolan Riley and Ruby Jane Riley; and one brother, Kenneth Larry Riley.
