Clara Jane Waters, 83, of Saltsburg, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. She was born April 23, 1942, a daughter of the late Clifford and Emma (Nixon) McClain. Clara was a member of the Loyalhanna Quilt Guild; she enjoyed working with kids as a park ranger, loved the outdoors, was a very talented quilter, and learned her sewing habits from her mother. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel Charles Waters; son, Chuck Waters; and brother, Jay McClain. Clara will be deeply missed by her daughter, Michele Waters of Saltsburg; son, Daniel Waters of Indiana; sister, Janette (John) of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. Clara was a proud grandmother to Annie Hall, whom she loved dearly. Family and friends will be received from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at VAIA FUNERAL HOME, 463 Athena Dr., Delmont (724-468-1177), followed by a service for Clara at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Sis was Such a gracious lady, an amazing cousin that I loved dearly. She was a master quilter and was simply a joy to be with, never a harsh comment never a cross word. I will miss her greatly. I will cherish the small quilt she gave me at our last McClain Family reunion. May she Rest In Peace!!
