Clare H. Kirshman

KIRSHMAN, Clare "Bud" H. - age 83 of Fenton, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at University Hospital, Ann Arbor. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Mr. Tom Hoose officiating. Interment will follow at Parshallville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Gift of Life of Michigan. Mr. Kirshman was born April 14, 1929 in Linden, the son of Clare H. and Ethel (Love) Kirshman, Sr. He married Gretchen E. Sootsma on July 1, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2007. Bud grew up on and farmed the Kirshman family centennial farm and retired form General Motors. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, high school and college sports. Must of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Heritage Hills Free Methodist Church. Surviving are: daughter, Kristine and husband, Dennis Lockwood of Fenton; five grandchildren, Chad (Carlie) Lockwood, Leslie (Steve) Brown, Pat, Alisha, and David Kirshman; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Feldhan; long-time friend, Suzanne Katlin. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bradley in 2002 and sister, Helen Winegarner.
