Clare Klinge Obituary

Born Clare Frances Coakley, in Oakland, to J. Frank Coakley (Alameda County District Attorney) and Kathleen "Kitty" Coakley, graduated Holy Names High School, then UC Berkeley '56 where she was a Sigma Kappa and met the love of her life Ronald Klinge (Lambda Chi Alpha) then of Los Angeles, CA. Ron and Clare were married 52 years when Ron pre-deceased her in 2010.
Survived by sons Jim (Donna) Vista CA, Charlie (Jill) Bellevue WA, David (Denise) Antioch CA, daughter Kathy Chen (Ramon) San Anselmo CA, grandchildren Kayla, Natalie, Michael (Courtney), Naomi, Nathan, Aaron, Parker, Ryan, Steven, and Lindsey, great grandchildren Aurora, Ben, Victoria, and Nico, brother Tom Coakley, and brother-in-law Bob Soulages. Pre-deceased by husband Ron, brothers James and John Coakley and sister-in-law Maureen Soulages.
Family and friends are invited for visitation June 20 (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am) at Grant Miller - John Cox Mortuary (2850 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA 94609), Funeral Mass June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Leo's Church (176 Ridgeway Ave, Oakland, CA 94611), reception to follow at Fenton's Creamery, burial to follow 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Clare's name to Holy Names High School, 4660 Harbord Drive, Oakland, CA 94618.
