Clarence Aragón, age 69, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved dearly. He was born on October 31, 1955, to Alberto and Eva Aragon. Clarence grew up in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and graduated from Robertson High School, where he was known for his athletic talent and quiet strength. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, earning a Good Conduct Medal. His time stationed in Germany and Spain became some of his most cherished memories-he spoke often of those experiences throughout his life. After completing his military service, Clarence worked in the uranium mines in Grants, New Mexico-tough, honest work that reflected his determination and resilience. He later began a long and respected career with the New Mexico Department of Transportation, retiring as a Shop Foreman. In retirement, Clarence worked part-time at the Gene Torres Golf Course. What started as a simple job became a meaningful part of his routine. He loved the peaceful setting and being around the game he enjoyed. He also spent countless hours woodworking, creating beautiful pieces with care and precision-he had a true gift for working with his hands. Clarence was a man of quiet generosity, steady character, and deep devotion to his family. He was especially proud of the life he and his beloved wife, Debbie (Cozens) Aragón, built together while raising their three children. He is preceded in death by his wife Debbie, his son Jared, his parents Alberto and Eva Aragon, and his brother Valentin. Clarence is survived by his son Brandon (Sabrina) of Albuquerque, and daughter Serena (Toby) of Las Vegas, NM; his brothers Albert (Theresa), Robert (Rose), Andres (Yvonne), and Eugene; and his sisters Joanne, Frances, and Bernadette (Eugene). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss his calm presence, gentle smile, and kind heart. Funeral Service: Rosary: Monday, July 28, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. Clarence will be laid to rest with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Rogers Mortuary, 600 Reynolds Ave., Las Vegas, NM 87701.
