With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sarah Christina Flores, beautiful mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, and proud United States Marine, a woman whose beauty radiated from the inside out.
Sarah passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and grace. She was born to Fidelia Flores on July 3, 1940, in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Sarah was a nurturing and protective mother, a loving grandmother whose strength shaped her children's lives. She found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother, filling her grandchildren's hearts with warmth, wisdom, and laughter. Her beauty was undeniable in her outward grace and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. A graduate and loyal Robertson Cardinal, a proud Dallas Cowboy fan, a committed Democrat who believed in service, justice, and the power of compassion. Sarah answered the call to serve her country with honor and courage, earning the title of United States Marine.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Levy Garcia; her mother, Fidelia Flores; her son, Terrance Flores; and her brothers, Carlos and George Flores.
She is survived by her son, Dwight Flores & wife Gwendolyn Flores, Rebecca & Evaristo Apodaca, Yolanda & Tim Castro, Anthony & Diane Ortiz, Larry & Carla Ortiz, grandchildren Dwight Flores Jr. & wife, Arlyn Flores, Adrianna Flores, Adrian Sanchez,Candice Flores, Amanda and Jose Lucero, great-grandchildren, and special niece, Charlene Flores, all of whom will carry her spirit forward with the same courage and compassion she so effortlessly gave.
Public viewing will be held at Rogers Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 11:00 am – 5:00pm.
Rosary will be prayed in her honor on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 9:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian burial, to celebrate her life, faith, and journey home at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Fr. Rob Yaksich officiating. Gentlemen left with the honor of serving as Pallbearers are; Larry Raul Ortiz, Jr., Anthony Ortiz, Jr., Fidel Ortiz, Larry Ortiz, Sr., Dwight Flores, Jr., and Isaiah Roybal. The family invites all who knew and loved her to attend and join in remembrance.
Burial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date with full military honors to recognize her sacrifice and legacy.
Though our hearts grieve, our faith rejoices for we know she now walks in the presence of the Lord, embraced by His eternal love. May we live as she did, with love, compassion, courage, and a heart anchored in Christ. Until we meet again, may the angels lead her into paradise, and may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts.
Semper Fidelis, beautiful mother.
