Clarence Robert Blalock, Jr., age 81, of Rome, GA, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Mr. Blalock was born on May 8, 1943, in Rockmart, GA, son of the late Clarence Robert Blalock, Sr., and the late Zula Thompson Blalock.
Mr. Blalock graduated from Rockmart High School in 1961 and attended Southern Polytechnic Institute and was in the first class of Draftsmen at Coosa Valley Technical School. He worked for 32 years at General Electric as a draftsman and computer software engineer, as well as doing automotive repairs and sales. Mr. Blalock served on the Board of Directors of the General Electric Employees Credit Union (Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union) for many decades. His children and grandchildren were the lights of his life. He was much loved by and loved the staff at Chulio Hills Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Blalock was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Cheryl Hindman Blalock; his son, Craig Blalock (Lori Rowe), Rome; his daughters, Darla Blalock, Rome, and Dena Siek, Carrollton; his grandchildren, Emma Boyle (Tyler), Anna and Robby Eddleman, and Alec and Aidan Siek; his sisters, Kay Deaton, Arizona, Gail Helton, Rockmart, and Becky Gates (Bill), Rome; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 3:00pm, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, from 2:00pm until the hour of service.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Blalock will be cremated. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
