Clarence Bogart

Clarence W. Bogart, age 95, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born in Erie on July 23, 1930, son of the late Fred and Ethel Bogart.

Following high school, Clarence entered the US Army for two years during the Korean War, and then served 10 years in the Army Reserves. He first worked at Erie Lithograph and then Johnson Controls until his retirement. Clarence was a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. He was an avid bowler in couples' leagues with his wife and was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his younger years, he boxed in the Army and also for the Golden Gloves. His greatest job was spending time with his wife.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Bogart, whom he married on February 23, 1957. He is further survived by two children, Kimberly Evans (Richard) and Dan Bogart (Amy); six grandchildren, Jackie Breter (Mark), Adam Evans (Shannon), Chris Evans, Ashley Bogart, Jessica Keith (Brandon) and Sean Bogart; six great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Bob Bogart.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, on Monday, September 15th, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571.
