Clarence F. Breer, 87, of Green Creek, IL, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Green Creek, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 26, 2025 prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Effingham Catholic Charities. Online condolences may be shared at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Clarence was born on March 12, 1938, in St. Francis Township, Effingham County, IL, the son of Ferd and Helen (Vahling) Breer. He married Carol Deters on October 20, 1962.
Clarence was a loving, faith filled and humble family man. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and always enjoyed playing catch with his kids. He loved dogs, enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Vietnam, and worked as an FDIC bank examiner.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Carol Breer of Green Creek; children, Karen (Dave) Randolph, Gary (Marti) Breer, Steve (Pam) Breer, Doug (Michelle) Breer, and Margie (Tom) Steck; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Florence Kinkelaar, Paul (Donna) Breer, and Kathy (Jerry) Hendrickson; sister-in-law, Kay Breer; in-laws, Janet Hanfland, Dolores Nieman, Marge (Ken) Fearday, George (Mary) Deters, Evelyn (Rod) Strubing, and Anita Deters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter in infancy, Louise Breer; and siblings, Leona Willenborg, Agnes Ruholl, Joe Breer, and Theresa Overbeck.
