Clarence, known fondly as "Cla," dedicated many years to his craft as a carpenter, working alongside his brothers at Boyd's Construction. Beyond his work, Cla found joy in the simplicity of life, whether it was fishing, tending to his garden, or embracing the thrill of fast cars and music that filled his soul with happiness.
A man of unwavering determination, Joseph embodied a strong-willed spirit that inspired those around him. He was protective and loyal, always standing by his family with a fierce dedication. His joyful laughter and love for joking around brought light into every gathering, as he cherished not just the moments but the people he shared them with.
Clarence was a loving and devoted brother, father, uncle and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Boyd; brother, Peter Boyd (Virginia); sisters, Rita Boyd Melancon (Jose') and Hilda Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell Boyd, Sr. and Edmira St. Julien Boyd; sisters, Octavia Boyd and Mildred Boyd; and brothers, Alton Boyd, Allen Boyd, Jr. and Harrison Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Kaleb LeBlanc, Collin LeBlanc, Kirk Melancon, Kendall Melancon, Kory Melancon and Gary Boyd.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Southern Grace Hospice, especially Hanna Carter, Brian Crutchfield, Leah Richard and Oanh Boyd.
