Clarence Edward Hill Jr, of Battle Creek, passed away with family and friends at his side on September 20, 2025.
Clarence was born on November 19, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Northeastern High School in 1961 and symbolized his dedication to Jehovah by water baptism later that same year.
On June 18, 1966, Clarence married the love of his life, Valerie Ann Hill, and they moved to Battle Creek, MI where there was a greater need to preach God's word as Jehovah's Witnesses. He supported their ministry by working as a Nuclear Pump Engineer for the Union Pump Company for over 30 years. Throughout that time, he and Valerie raised 2 children. He enjoyed many privileges of service as a Congregation Elder and Regular pioneer. More than anything, Clay loved preaching the good news of God's Kingdom, and remained active in the ministry field until the day of his passing. He loved Bible study, and would often spend many hours lost in research. He was known for his constant attendance at the Kingdom Hall, often extremely early. He loved a good whopper with no mayo from Burger King with a strawberry shake and enjoyed watching the Lions with his son.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Stacey Hill; son, Cameron (Hillary) Hill; brother, Dilman 'Kip" Hill; sister, Deborah Thomas (husband Thomas); mother-in law, Carrie Leslie; brother-in-law, Grayling (Jurothie) Leslie; grandchildren, Whitney Hill, Donovan Hill, Joseph Mathis; 4 great-granddaughters, Shawnice Brown, Doniya Hill, Marcquia Burgess, Nylaya Hill; and great grandson, King Hill; as well as countless beloved relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Hill; parents, Clarence Hill Sr., and Marian White; siblings, William Hill, Richard Hill, Sydney Hill, and Jessilyn Hill.
