Jessica Brown, 47, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, August 31,
2025. She was born on March 25, 1978, the daughter of Stanley Brown and Kathleen
(Bennett) VonEitzen.
Jessica is survived by her three daughters, Breanne (Alex) Wilder, Bridgette (Hunter)
Burns, and Brooke Wintersteen; her granddaughters Hazel, Winry, and Aspen Burns;
her mother, Kathleen Bennett (Thomas) VonEitzen; her sister, Laura Brown; and her
brother, Benjamin Brown. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Brown, her
stepfather, Thomas VonEitzen, and her grandparents, Jacqueline Bennett, Patricia
Brown, and Robert Brown.
Jess grew up a proud army brat before moving to Michigan, where she attended Ida
High School. She was a cheerleader, an active member of the drama club, and played
flute in the school band. Sometime after graduation, she pursued her passion for music,
earning her degree from Specs Howard School of Media Arts. That path led her to jobs
that she cherished, working as a radio DJ for several stations and DJing karaoke at
local bowling alleys. Her passion for music wasn't just a career. It was a gift she shared
freely, leaving echoes of joy and connection wherever she went.
Music was Jess's heartbeat. Whether she was turning the music all the way up in her
car, dancing like no one was watching, or belting out her favorite songs at concerts, she
lived with a freedom and authenticity that inspired everyone around her. She never
pretended to be anything other than herself, strong, passionate, and unapologetically
real.
She was as protective as she was loving, a fighter when it came to those, she held
close. She poured her heart into her family, especially her three daughters, who carry
her strength, spirit, and heart forward. She will be remembered for her her unshakable
spirit, and the way she could light up a room simply by being in it.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jessica's honor to Pawsabilities, 2200 W
Bellevue Hwy, Olivet, MI 49076, a cause close to her heart. For more information about
memorial services, please contact her daughter, Breanne Wilder.
