Clarence William Ross, 85 of Ward, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 9, 2025, just 7 days shy of his 86th birthday. He was born to O'Neal (C.O.) and Marie Cox Ross on November 16, 1939, in Ward, where he resided for most of his life. He graduated from Cabot High School in 1958.

On February 28, 1963, Clarence married Paula (Pat) Atlantic Treadway. Clarence was known and loved by many, but understood by only a certain few. A devoted and hardworking man, he never shied away from doing whatever it took to provide for his family and support the life he cherished. He wore many hats, literally and figuratively. Though few of the younger generations know, he was an avid roller skater in his younger days. Clarence was an exceptional cattleman with extensive knowledge of both dairy and beef cattle. His greatest pride came from watching his children and grandchildren in the show ring, carrying on the traditions he loved so much. He was known by some as the man in overalls at the end of the cow barn and to others, he was the last face they saw as they laid their loved ones to rest.

If Clarence wasn't on his tractor or at the fair riding around on his Gator, you would find him in his chair watching rodeos, westerns or Judge Judy. He was a straightforward man with very few facial expressions. Clarence said what he meant and meant what he said. He had a rough and tough exterior that protected a heart of gold underneath. He was preceded in death by his parents, O'Neal (C.O.) and Marie Cox Ross.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Paula (Pat) Ross; children, Claressa (Jeff) Davis of Ward, Aaron (Jennifer) Ross of Ward, Melissa Hubbard of Arkansas and Tiffany Fields of Arkansas; grandchildren, Jake (Brittany) Davis of Cabot, Daniel (Kassi) Davis of Ward, Chloe Davis of Ward and Levi Ross; great grandchildren, Jett Davis, Rett Davis, Kooper Davis, Briggs Davis, Riley Burton and Gage Hankins.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday November 13, 2025 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Clarence requested memorial donations be made to Old Austin Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
