Clarice Prater

Clarice Prater, age 74, of Griffin passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Brightmoor Hospice.
She was born on October 14, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Payne and Alma Payne, her siblings Barbara Payne Morris, Jerry Payne and Tommy Payne, and her nephew, Todd Smith. She lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. Clarice was a member of Rock Springs Church where she was SAVED and shared Jesus and the story of salvation with anyone, she met, Clarice was a member of Foundation Sunday Class, helped in the Welcome Center at Rock Springs Church. Clarice worked as a flight attendant with Capital Airlines, she was hired by the FBI and worked there for a brief time. Clarice took a position with the University of Georgia as an Executive Secretary, after her retirement she worked as an Executive Secretary for the Flint River Regional Library.
Clarice is survived by her loving husband, Rick Prater; sons, Mark Prater and Nick Prater; grandchildren, Paisley Prater and Palmer Prater; sister, Phyllis Smith; niece, Denise & Jeff Hodges & family.
Friends and family of Clarice Prater are invited for a visitation on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at Rock Springs Church, followed by a Celebration of Her Life in the sanctuary. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate.
