Clarienda F. Crafton, 77, Mooresville, passed away June 26, 2023, after a lengthy battle with various health problems. Mrs. Crafton was born October 18, 1945, in Connersville, to the late Charles E. and Norma (Thomas) John. Clarienda married Charles Crafton on March 29, 1964, and he survives.
She graduated from Rushville High School and went to beauty school in Indianapolis. She was the owner and operator of The Beauty Belle Beauty Shop for several years. Later, she was employed as the Police Matron and Dispatcher for the Plainfield Police Department before health issues caused her early retirement. Clarienda was a faithful member of the Plainfield Christian Church. Additionally, she was a life-member of the N.R.A. and a longtime supporter of the Morgan and Hendricks County Humane Societies. Clarienda loved all animals and was especially fond of Great Danes. She also enjoyed birdwatching and admiring the flowers in her yard. Clarienda’s memory will be cherished by her loving family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Verity John and a brother, Edward John.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Charles Crafton and one son, Drew (Alanna) Crafton.
Clarienda’s Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2023, 5 to 7 p.m., with the service following at 7 p.m. The burial will be on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Dale Cemetery, Connersville.
