May special memories bring you happiness and peace///////From the Fisher-Davis family and staff with deepest sympathy///////Clarine Jones, 82, of the 400 block of Norcum Circle, died Sept. 26, 2011 in her residence. A native of Carrsville, Va., she retired as a cashier after 11 years of service from the Little Creek Commissary. The widow of William A. Jones, she was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, a leader of United Order of Tents Cassandra No. 139 and member of Tidewater Gospel Choral Union. Survivors include three daughters, Helena Gary, Erma Carter (Cordell) and Antoinette Jones; three sons, William A. Jones (Charlotte), Derik B. Jones and Dean Jones (Theresa); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends including a sister-in-law, Frances Cook; and a brother-in-law, Robert Jones. She was predeceased by a nephew, Jesse Dickens Jr. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, with the Rev. Dr. William Hampton presiding. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., is in charge. Viewing will be today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will be at 1527 Crystal Lake Drive, Portsmouth.
