It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Clarita Maria Marcelina Sanchez who left us on September 23, 2024 after a beautifully lived life. She always cherished her children and grandchildren. She was full of love, quick-witted, and resilient. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She liked to visit with family and friends, eat spicy chili, listen to music, watch soap operas, and play bingo.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Raymond William Hartley (Sanchez); parents, Florencio Baca and Maria Baca (Gallegos); and siblings, Toby Baca, Herman Baca, and Chana Baca.

She is survived by her three children; daughter, Genevieve Sandoval (Gerald), and sons, Raymond Sanchez and Fr. Steven Hartley; grandchildren, Jerry Sandoval (Adrianna), Christopher Sandoval (Tanna), Destynie Aranda (Eli), Ray Sanchez Jr (Destynie), and Nate Sanchez (Angel); great-grandchildren, Haileigh Aranda, Xhion Aranda, Henry Sandoval, and Emma Sandoval; and sister, Tillie Sedillo (Charlie); along with countless others who felt her warmth and kindness.

In remembrance of Clarita's beautiful life and to accompany her in prayer, a Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho NM 87124, on October 2, 2024 at 10:30am (with a 10:00am viewing). Interment will follow at 1:00pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM 87102.

Pallbearers: Jerry Sandoval, Christopher Sandoval, Destynie Aranda, Ray Sanchez Jr, Nate Sanchez, and Haileigh Aranda.
