Celebrating the Life of Sally Guthrie deBuvitzSally Guthrie deBuvitz, 76, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Albuquerque, NewMexico. She was born on October 23, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to L.A.Guthrie II and Mary LouGuthrie, both of whom preceded her in death.Sally grew up in Dallas in a close-knit family and remained deeply connected to her roots. Shelater married Edward deBuvitz, with whom she shared nearly twenty years of marriage and,more importantly, a lifelong friendship. In 1979, they moved to New Mexico, a place thatquickly captured their hearts. Sally embraced the culture, the beauty of the desert landscape, andthe community she found there.Her professional life was defined by dedication and perseverance. For more than forty years,Sally built a respected career in the insurance industry, where she was known not only for herexpertise but also for her compassion and integrity in helping others.Family was always at the center of Sally's world. She is survived by her daughter, Kija deBuvitzFarrar, and her beloved grandchildren, Isabella (13) and Isaac (11), who were the light of herlater years. Sally's love reached beyond the bounds of her immediate family. She welcomedChristina Dunmire into her life as a second daughter, and cherished Aurora Joy and Nora Blue asadditional grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Susan Johnson, L.A. Guthrie III,and Mary Guthrie Guysi, and was preceded in death by her sister, Sara "Janie" Feeley.Those who knew Sally will remember her for her incredible generosity of spirit. She had anextraordinary heart, always extending kindness and support to those in need, never hesitating toopen her home or share what she had. Her compassion built bonds that went beyond blood, andher ability to nurture others created a wide and lasting family of love.Outside of work and family, Sally found joy in creativity and nature. She loved to paint, oftencapturing the colors of the world around her. Gardening brought her peace and pride, while birdwatching gave her moments of quiet wonder. These simple pleasures reflected her ability to findbeauty and meaning in everyday life.Sally's legacy is one of love, generosity, and strength. She will be deeply missed by all whoknew her, but her presence will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.Though she is gone, her big heart continues to beat on in the countless lives she touched.
