Liva was born on December 17, 1933 in Cuba, New Mexico, the youngest of 14 children to Anastasio and Sofia Martinez. Liva was such a kind , loving soul . Always looking out for all her family from Cuba, NM . She was a cook for 17 years for the Cuba High School as well as the Boy Scouts. Her caring heart shined brightly as she feed her family as well as others that needed food. She was Catholic and always had a strong religious belief in our Lord , the Virgin Mary, Guardian Angel and her special Patron Saint Jude.
In 1969, Liva married now deceased, her husband, Climaco Lucero and welcomed two children Sofia Lucero and Teresa Lucero. She was blessed with 4 grand children, Brian Eaton, Miranda Rodriguez, Nikolai Mondragon and Levi Jr. Maes. Liva was proceeded in her death by her parents Anastacio and Sofia Martinez, her 13 siblings, husband, one stepson Dennis Lucero , Survivors include her daughters Sofia Lucero and Teresa Lucero-Maes along with her grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, surviving first cousin Benito Casaus of 102 years old and Gilbert Archebec 89 years old.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, New Mexico, with a rosary at 10 AM. followed by a Mass at 11 AM and burial with interment at Cuba cemetery to follow. Reception will follow at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall following interment.
