Justin Meyer Spargo was born August 17, 1993, near San Antonio, Texas. He died at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 4, 2025, at the age of 32.

His mother, Joni Spargo Meyer, passed away when he was nine and he moved to New Mexico to live with his grandparents, Rick and Jo Ann Spargo. They adopted him in 2005 and at that time, Justin chose to change his name from Justin Wayne Meyer to Justin Meyer Spargo. His grandmother passed away in 2016, and his grandfather died in 2017. Justin was unmarried and had no children.

He is survived by his aunt/sister, Cheryl Spargo DeCandia, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. Because he was so personable, Justin made friends easily and always seemed to have friends with him wherever he went. As a child, the family often joked about "Justin and his posse."

During his youth, Justin was an excellent runner, basketball player and soccer player and excelled academically. He will be remembered as a bright and respectful young man who remained cheerful, pleasant, and polite even under the most difficult of circumstances. Unfortunately, his struggles with addiction and mental health issues and the accompanying legal ramifications, consumed most of his adult life.

In remembrance of Justin, please give a struggling friend or family member a call, send them a text or give them a big hug. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future.

Justin, last we spoke we were going to get together soon. That never happened, we should have made that happen. It will change things for me and those I care about going forward. I thank you for that. You are loved and will always be remembered.

I will always remember Justin as the cute little boy with the sun-bleached hair that could run like the wind. Rest in peace Justin.
