Clastene Leath

Clastene Leath passed away at her home in Burlington, NC on August 7th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on November 15th, 1935 to the late John Arthur and Hattie Graves Leath. She attended Pleasant Grove High School and was a member of the Glee Club(and boy did she love that Glee Club). She went on to graduate from Dudley Beauty School where she earned a Cosmetology license. She was also a member of the Alamance County Beauticians Club. As a licensed cosmetologist, she proudly attended and participated in numerous Hair & Fashion shows along the east coast. She was an active member of Union Chapel United Church of Christ where she served on the Usher Board, was a Sunday School teacher, as well as sang in the Senior Choir. She enjoyed baking cakes, shopping, spending time with family(including her playful arguments with Antonio lol), and anything that she could do to not sit still.
She was married to the late Mr. Ralph Poole affectionately nick named "Sweetness" by her children because he was always dressed to impress and kept a clean ride. She leaves to cherish her memories to her children Donza Slade (Johnny), Shawn Leath (Veleka) and Antonio Leath. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Holly, Ashley, Hillary, Amber, Siara (Justin), Daris, Devonte and Deonna. Her great grandchildren include Desean, Amah'd, Elijah, and Meilani. Clastene also leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Leath (Mary Alice) and was preceded in death by her siblings Sylvester Leath, Raymond Leath (Flora), William Thomas Leath, June Leath, Mary Crisp (Hardy), Katie Vaughn, Fannie Sue Jones (Theodore) and Otis Leath.
Clastene was employed by Kayser Roth for 30 years, Jeffries Socks for 10 years and concluded her career as a custodian for the Alamance Burlington School Systems.
