On Thursday, July 17, 2025 the Lord sent his angels to bring home to rest Mrs. Hazel Ireland Carter at age of 79. On October 8, 1945 She was born to Carl Edward Ireland Sr. and Mary Gant Ireland both deceased. Hazel was a 1963 graduate of Central High School in Graham, North Carolina. She also graduated from Winston Salem State University in 1967.

Hazel was a faithful member of Elon First Baptist Church where she was a member of the gospel chorus, she started the children's nursery and was on the scholarship committee. She taught school for 30 years and retired from Caswell County Schools. Hazel loved traveling, shopping and spending time with family.

She leaves loving and lasting memories to cherish to her beloved and devoted children, daughter, Rhonda Neal (Cory), son Rodrick Carter, sister Mary Frances Mitchell, grandchildren, Keilan Neal, Kamron Neal, De'Markus Mims, De'siah Mims, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Carter, sister Norma Foust, Delois Fields and brother Carl Edward Ireland, Jr.

A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our hearts, which never can be filled.
