Claude Chastain Obituary
Claude Chastain, age 90, of Sautee, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Mr. Chastain was born on August 27, 1935, in White County, to the late Samuel Martin Chastain and Cora Mae Holcomb. He retired from construction and was a member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Chastain; daughters, Karan Lee Chastain and Charlene Chastain; sons, Keith Claude Chastain, Danny Chastain, David Chastain, and Dewayne Brian Chastain (Christina); brother, Allen Martin Chastain; sister-in-law, Marie Chastain; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Mitchell, the Rev. Dave Fortner, and the Rev. Dwayne Chastain will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. A livestream of the funeral service can be viewed at: https://youtube.com/live/dXx4oCixmoM?feature=share
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
