Born September 1, 1944, Claude went by his middle name Lyle. He was a creature of habit. Although, he was a man of very few words, his actions spoke volumes. When he wasn’t working as an auto technician, you could find him adding onto their home in Dallas, building the new home in Terrell for he and his wife, Audrey, to spend their golden years in or driving a school bus for Terrell ISD.
In September of 1969, he married Audrey Jean Clark. They were an instant family, along with Audrey’s sons. Lyle began training and working as an auto technician shortly thereafter. Lyle loved working as an auto technician and was very successful. He was honored and praised for his outstanding service and performance. Celebrities asked for him by name when they brought their cars in for service.
Over the years, Lyle and Audrey would save and invest their money, which ultimately provided for many luxurious trips and a peaceful retirement. Lyle loved being a grandparent. His granddaughters, Bailee and Rachel affectionately called him Paw Paw or Peeps. They had him wrapped around their fingers. He took them back and forth to school, they went shopping, they watched westerns, they built skyscrapers out of Lincoln Logs or cardboard boxes, they did word search puzzles, watched Rocky & Bullwinkle and had many sleep overs. Over the past 2 years they took care of their Peeps when he was sick and weak. They cooked for him, took care of his daily necessities, bought his groceries and made sure his freezer was stocked with his favorite ice cream!
Lyle leaves behind his daughter Jeanie, his granddaughters Bailee and Rachel George, siblings, stepsons and many other family members. He is preceded in death by his wife Audrey.
