Claude Humberson Obituary
Claude Ervin Humberson, age 87, passed away on January 3, 2026. Claude was born on July 10, 1938, in Hazelton, West Virginia, to the late Arnold James and Retha (Wakefield) Humberson. He was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, where he remained active and devoted for many years. A man of quiet strength, Claude enjoyed a simple but fulfilling life.
He is survived by his loving children, Brent (Karen) Humberson and Brenda (Mark) Chavayda; his cherished grandchildren, Laura Mae (Brandon) Lance, Joshua (Kimberly) Chavayda, Brittany Chavayda, Lisa (Chris) McDevitt, Morgan (Elliot) Monyak, Anastasia (Evan) Brook, Michael (Maddie) Humberson, Irina Humberson, and Alexandra Humberson; adored great-grandchildren, Grady, Evelyn, Jane, Bailey, and Cara; and siblings, Ward (Carolyn) Humberson, Fran (Dick) Enos, Melvin (Carolyn) Humberson, Larry (Sherri) Humberson, and Retha Mae (John) Dymond. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara M. (Friend) Humberson, and his brother, Gary Wayne Humberson.
The family will welcome friends from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, 3480 Laurel Road, Brunswick, with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens.

I am so sad to hear of Claude's passing. I am the "other Cara" at the dental office. We all adored Claude and he will be so missed.

I will pray for all of Claude´s family. When we were growing up, Claude and I were close, and he was my favorite male cousin. Our lives became far removed, but my thoughts of him always reflected the wonderful person he was.
