Claude "Rick" Shadrick

Claude George "Rick" Shadrick was born March 8, 1938, in Sperry, Oklahoma, to Colen and Dolores (Scott) Shadrick. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at his home in Kellyville, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family. He had attained the age of 86 years and 25 days.
Rick grew up in the Collinsville and Owasso areas, graduating Owasso High School with the class of 1956. In 1958, he joined the United States Navy, serving proudly. After his honorable military discharge, Rick worked in a variety of businesses to provide for he and his family. Among his endeavors, he owned and operated The Cajun Boiling Pot in Tulsa and The Bar B Que Shack in Kellyville. He also spent time doing fruit and produce sales, pre-need and cemetery sales, as well as Custom Hay Baling.
On August 1, 1978, he and Sherry Gaylene Rowbotham were united in marriage in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a proud member of the NRA that spent time reading and watching western movies. Rick was a great cook and enjoyed doing so. His grilled cheese sandwiches and popcorn were second to known.
Rick like to spend time outdoors in his garden or watching birds. Above all, he enjoyed be involved in his grandchildren's activities. He will be remembered for being head strong and determined, yet affectionate and loving. Rick always made people feel loved and always made sure to tell all the ladies in his life how beautiful they were. He was loved tremendously and will be missed dearly.
Rick is survived by: his wife of over 45 years, Sherry, of the home; 1 daughter: Anita Mizell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren including: Heather Taylor and Andrew Walker of Kellyville, Oklahoma, Maranda Ward and husband Christopher of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Sarah Hubbard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous great grandchildren including: Shyann Taylor, Christopher Taylor, and Haylee Ward; cousin: Lorene Clifton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers and sisters;
No services are planned. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
