Claudette Cooley

Claudette Cooley, age 73, passed away December 14, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital.

She was born on February 27, 1952, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Wilsia Mae and Grover "Buster" Cleveland Tangle.

Claudette was a lifelong resident of Erie. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1971. She was a long-time employee of Plastek until she retired. Claudette enjoyed being a great wife and mother to her 2 children. She loved playing cards, trying her luck at the casino, fishing, and spending time with her family. And let's not forget her favorite pastime, watching those black and white westerns she loved so much! (LOL)

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Earl "Bob" Cooley; her son, Maurice "Reese" Cooley; siblings, Lee Tangle, Barbara Jean Tangle-Williams, Donna Mae Tangle-Hamilton, Anna Mae Tangle Williams, Mattie Lee Tangle-Chaney, Lawrence "Chubby" Brothers, David "Apollo" Tangle, Grover Tangle, Brenda Tangle-Clayton, Jacqueline Tangle, Lynette Tangle, Bonnie Rae Atkinson, Gloria Jean Mims, Geneva Brothers and Maxine Fox and granddaughter, Esmerelda Cooley.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Duane (Brandi) Cooley; her siblings, Paulette Tangle, Charles Tangle, Lee Andrew Brothers, Doreen Logan and Delores Tangle-Reed; her grandchildren, Quinteara Cooley, Maurice Cooley Jr., Amonee Cooley, Kamari Cooley, Rhianna Cooley, Razon Cooley, Razonna Cooley, Rasheeda Cooley, Riaja Cooley, Romeo Cooley, Izaha Cooley, Dajzhonique Cooley, Kioni Cooley, Duane Cooley Jr., Deonna Cooley, Kanye Cooley and Ezra Cooley. She is further survived by her great grandchildren, Donte Cooley, Cassidy Cooley, Ca'Mya Cooley, Tyric Lloyd, Lyric Lloyd, Da'Reese Cooley, Da'Mariz Cooley, Romero Jones, Ka'Layah Jones, Kamyis Jones, Myaira Jones, Zyrielle Jones, Ayana Jones and Milani Cooley.

We would also like to send a special thank you to the ICU unit at Hamot. You kept us informed, you were gentle with your care, and you tried your best to help my mother. We appreciate you so much.
