Born August 19, 1942 in Downey, CA, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Nola Pinkley Finley.
Mrs. Shafer was a homemaker. She was a very dedicated and sweet lady. Above all else, she was a Christian, and a member of Belleville Bible Church in Clayton, IN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and cared deeply for all those around.
Family members include her daughters, Mandy Smyth (Danny) of Toccoa and Missy Teal (Scott) of Avon, IN; son, John Shafer of Mooresville, IN; grandchildren, Abbey Bruce (Jake), Sydney Carillo (John), Allison Fortenberry (Caleb) and Reilly Teal; great-grandchildren, Levi Bruce, Graham Fortenberry, Lucy Bruce and Finley Fortenberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Leonard Shafer; and sisters, Parna Hale, Mary Lou Stout and Rosie Lee DePriest.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.
