Clay A. "Wildman" Hart, 54, of Battle Ground, passed away on Wednesday, August, 14 2013 at 11:09 a.m. at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Clay was born on March 10, 1959 in Lafayette to the late Alexander Hart and Eleanor Linder Hart, of Battle Ground, and she survives. He married Loretta Darling on March 24, 1980 in Visalia, CA and she survives. He served with the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1979. Clay was an avid NASCAR fan, especially a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. & Jr. He raced figure 8 and circle track for over twenty years, and was also a former member of the mixed bowling league at Star Lanes Bowling Center. Clay was a big family man and enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Surviving along with his wife Loretta Hart, and his mother, Eleanor Hart, are two sons, Curtis (wife: Rachael) Hart of West Lafayette, Bradley (wife: Michelle) Hart of West Lafayette, and one daughter, Kimberly (husband: Scott Walker) Hart of Battle Ground. Also surviving is one brother, Alexander (wife: Janet) Hart of Lafayette, and two sisters, Melody (husband: Jeff) Morris of West Lafayette, and Cindy (husband: Kenny) Calloway of Battle Ground, three grandsons, and eight granddaughters. Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one half hour prior to the service at Simplicity Funeral Care with Pastor Tim Walker officiating.
