Cleaston Morrow of Farner, TN passed away peacefully Sunday morning after a long illness. A lifelong resident of the area, he was the only son in a family of nine children. A standout football player at Copper Basin High School, Cleaston worked for many years at Tennessee Chemical, followed by various positions as a welder and a carpenter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a self-taught artist who created paintings and carvings for his family and friends.
Cleaston is preceded in death by his parents Fate and Myrtle Morrow and his wife, Hazel Morrow, sisters Carolyn Gaddis, Louise West, Shirley Brendle & Charlotte Dennis. He leaves behind children David Morrow, Julia Harris, Chris (Jolly) Morrow, Tia Hickman and step-children Fancy and Jerry Stephenson, sisters Delora Hall, Brenda McGlothen, Joyce Brendle and Doris Karrantza, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23 at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville. A memorial service will be held there at 2:00 pm that afternoon. The family will then proceed to New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Farner for internment at 3:00 pm. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
