Cleatus (Clarence) Reynolds, 80 of Elizabeth passed away on July 1, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in the Philippines, Cleatus was the son of Mary and Cleatus Reynolds I, a US serviceman (AAF). After earning a Bachelors degree in Medical Technology from Far Eastern University in the Philippines, he emigrated to America with his first wife, Soledad, in 1969 and worked as a lab technician in several local hospitals. He was employed by Dupont in Linden for 20 plus years, before retiring as a ramp agent for United. After an amicable divorce in 1991, he got remarried to Estela Ocampo in 2001. He loved music and dancing and always offered help to anyone in need. He was a father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his son Aris in 1996. Surviving are his children Sarabeth Wiggins and her husband Joseph and daughter Leilani, Cleatus Reynolds III (Johnny) and his wife Tracey, with their three children - Cleatus IV, Kenzie, and Olivia, and Jennifer Luedke and her husband Russell, with her children and grandchildren; Also surviving are his stepchildren Gift and Kris, their spouses and children, along with his sister Carol and many nieces and nephews in the US, Canada and the Philippines.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm at the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge.
A funeral mass will be held on July 16, 2022 at 11:30 am at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge, with the burial being at Cloverleaf Cemetery, also in Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cleatus may be made to the American Heart Association.
