John Conlin Obituary

Born in Jersey City, John resided in Seacaucus for 18 years prior to settling in Carteret in 1989. He was employed as an embroidery thread cutter for 43 years and will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of music and especially, Western movies. John was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, being a self-proclaimed "handyman" and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed.
John was predeceased by five siblings, Margaret, Madelin, Michael, Patrick and Patricia. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Mary (Forrer) conlin, children, Kathleen Green with her husband Darian, John J. Conlin, Jr. with his fiance Lauren and Kelly Matthews with her husband Adrian; grandchildren, Shannon M. Conlin, Joseph G. Conlin and Shaun Wilkes along with his brother, Edward Conlin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm at CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading. Private cremation will follow.

I had he pleasure of knowing John endless heartwarming years. John always had time for me, neighbors loved him for his willingness to help us and/or a stranger. Always happy, smiling, devoted Father & husband to Mary. John managed my apartment building with devotion/care--tenants loved him. You will always be in my heart/prayers my dear Friend. You will always be a blessing in my life. RIP, Angel.
