Clemenatine Matthews-Rollins, 92, of Logan, WV, transcended peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Clemenatine was born in Prospect in Giles County, TN, in 1933. Clemenatine lived a long and fulfilling life dedicated to her family, family, and community. She was known for her warm heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Rollins; parents, Howard and Eunice (Smith) Matthews; siblings, Ida Bea Whitehead, Hiram Matthews, James Matthews, and Alberta Davidson; children, Dartanya V. Matthews, Adrian F. Patton, and Jacquita B. Reynolds; three grandsons, Jermaine D. Brown, Shawntez A. Matthews, Sr. and Juan Bryant; granddaughter, Shahtekia L. Brown; great granddaughter, LaToya Bryant; step daughter, Joanna West; and step son, Willie James West.
Clemenatine enjoyed gardening, sewing, bowling, working puzzle books, and family time. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the countless ways she touched the lives of friends and family. She attended Aracoma High School and was a member of Sulpher Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: sons, Fernando R. (Carnella Simmons) Bryant, Antonio Matthews, Angelo (Angela) Patton, Tarnell (Joyce) Patton, and Torrey Patton; daughters, Arletta Brown, and Angelina (Michael) Johnson; stepdaughter, Linda Rollins; and stepson, Frank James West. She also is leaving a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
The family held a private grave side service officiated by Rev. Audie Murphy, Sr.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the love, support, and prayers shared during this time.
