Clemon Lee Gentry, Jr., was born on October 20, 1952, in Litte Rock, Arkansas. He was the eldest son born to the union of Clemon and Pearline Muldrew Gentry. His father was a preacher who preached around the central Arkansas area and SW Arkansas. So naturally as a young kid he developed an early love for the scriptures and obeyed the gospel by being baptized in the Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School and earned certifications from Red River Technical College in Hope, Arkansas.
Clemon enjoyed tinker and fixing on “odd and ends”. He was an avid reader who stayed reading and studying the scriptures. He enjoyed guns and had a vast coin collection.
He married Rose Hunter on September 3, 2016, and remained a faithful member of the 11th and Pine Street Church of Christ in Arkadelphia until his death.
In his 72nd season of life Clemon passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, peacefully at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, and bonus daughter Kimberly Hunter.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Rose Gentry of Arkadelphia, AR; his daughters, Kendra Gentry and Karla Gentry both of Arkadelphia; two grandchildren, Haille Gentry and Kennedy Gentry; his bonus children, Valerie Armstrong and Clifton Hunter; his bonus grandchildren, Davion Hunter, De’Jon Nolen, Kayla Hunter, Tyler Hunter, Aleena Hunter, and CJ Hunter, Jr.; his brothers, Neal (Fay) Gentry, of Little Rock, AR, Joe (Diann) Gentry of DeSoto, TX, James (Phyllis) Gentry of Little Rock, AR, John (Adrianne) Gentry of Poland, OH, and Jacob Gentry of Honolulu, HI. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, David Barron (his telephone buddy), Robert Brown, Ronnie Hall, other friends and the Church of Christ family.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Church of Christ, 1100 Pine St. in Arkadelphia. The family will greet and receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 pm until service time. Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Interment will be at Harrison Chapel Cemetery in Delight, Arkansas.
