Born on May 13, 1933 in Buckhorn, KY Cleo Deaton Bishop passed away on February 17th leaving behind two sons(Randy and Larry Bishop), one daughter-in-law(Deborah Bishop), one granddaughter (Jaime Bishop Erwin), two grandsons(Kenneth and Connor Bishop), two great granddaughters(Logan Erwin and Cornelia Bishop) and two great grandsons(Miles Bishop and Parker Erwin) whom she loved dearly. She has two surviving brothers(Luke and Fred Deaton). Three brothers (Doc, Crit, and Oscar Deaton) and three sisters(Mae Deaton Bowling, Polly Deaton Hedge, and Ann Deaton Brown) predeceased Cleo.

While Cleo was in high school she met her husband Lloyd Bishop and they got married on October 7, 1950 in Indiana at the age of 17. They were married for 65 years until the passing of Lloyd in 2015. After getting married they moved to Cincinnati to start their careers and family.

Cleo was an employee of the RCA Corporation where she assembled vacuum test tubes for televisions. After the RCA plant closed she was hired by the Avon Corporation as a shipper at the Avon plant in Springdale. At both companies she met many lifelong friends.

She loved gardening and was blessed with a green thumb. Cleo loved sharing plants and her delicious tomatoes with her friends and family. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed trips to beaches in South Carolina, Florida, California, Hawaii and Mexico. Boating on Lake Cumberland with its beautiful scenery was a favorite pass time for Cleo and Lloyd with their family and friends. Cleo enjoyed holiday cooking for family, a good party, poker, gin rummy, and her word search books.

She will be sorely missed. The inscription on Lloyd and Cleo’s tombstone appropriately reads: “ The song is ended but the melody lingers on”.

Visitation will take place on Monday February 24, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 12 noon, at Arlington Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 2145 Compton Rd Cincinnati, OH 45231.
