Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Family Mortuary - Manassa on Feb. 16, 2026.
Cleo Pacheco, a beacon of gentle kindness and warm friendliness, passed away on February 13th, 2026, just shy of her 96th birthday. Born in
Manassa, Colorado, on February 22nd, 1930, to the late Manuel Espinoza and Fortunata Valdez Espinoza, Cleo was a cherished sister to thirteen siblings who preceded her in death, as did her beloved husband, Jose "Joe" Manuel Pacheco, whom she married on October 29th, 1956, in the picturesque town of Taos, New Mexico. Her faith was the center of her life. She believed in Jehovah/Jesus Christ as our Savior and trusted in God's promises with a quiet confidence that carried her through every season.
Cleo's legacy is honorably carried on by her devoted children: Georgia (Robert) Venne of Alamosa, Bea (Scott) Rouse of Cortez, Carla (Jimmy) Vigil of La Jara, and Billy Joe (Rebecca) Pacheco of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was the proud matriarch to a generation of grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory: Kimberly (Dante) Gonzales, Jeffery Rouse, April Martinez, Sean (Jenna) Vigil, Ryan (Mariah) Rouse, Brianne (Crissy) Reyes, Brandi (Brendon) Anderson, Brendan (Angel) Pacheco, Bryson (Jordan) Pacheco, Tausha (Josiah) Chavez, and Cory (Cheyenne) Vigil. Her joy was magnified through her great-grandchildren: Amyas Maestas, Soleil Maestas, Marshall Borjas, Caiden Rouse, Evee Rouse, Tiegan Rouse, Dante Gonzales, Carmen Gonzales, Brooklyn Gonzales, Ava Gonzales, Connor Vigil, Parker Vigil, Koa Chavez, Kyse Chavez, Braydon Anderson, Brylee Anderson, Vincent Pacheco, and Lorenzo Pacheco. Cleo's love also extended to her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a multitude of friends who were all touched by her nurturing presence.
Throughout her life, Cleo found profound joy in the simplicity and beauty of her garden-nurturing each plant was a testament to her loving care for all life. She was a strong-willed woman who carried herself with grace, imparting the values of hard work, resilience, and dedication to her children, and to many, she was known for her immaculate home, and the quiet dignity she carried everywhere she went. Above all, the time Cleo spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, was where she found her greatest happiness.
As we bid farewell to Cleo, we remember a life abundantly filled with moments of love, the tenderness of her touch, the sincerity of her advice, and the inclusiveness of her welcome. No doubt, her spirit-a wellspring of generosity and joy-will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
