Cleo Myrna Salter

Cleo Salter passed away Tuesday morning, December 2nd, at Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born on May 6, 1940, in Snowflake, Arizona, to Victoria Mackey, and was lovingly raised by the man she considered her true father, Chris Salling. She was 85 years old at the time of her passing.
On August 26, 1960, Cleo married the love of her life, Phillip Salter, and together they built a family grounded in faith, devotion, and resilience.
Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phillip Salter; her sons, Clifford, Ray, and Gordon; and many beloved siblings.
Cleo spent much of her life as a caretaker for the elderly, a role that came naturally to her. She had a deep gift for compassion and truly enjoyed taking care of people. She was a woman of faith who trusted in the Lord throughout her life. Above all, she loved her family-especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren-who brought her tremendous joy and purpose.
She is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Blundell (Russ) and Phyllis Belcher (Randy); her brother, J.D. Salling (Michelle); her grandchildren, Sara Gonzales (Jared), Josh Blundell (Kayla), Bethany Rossal (Willy), Corey Belcher (Amber), Colby Belcher, and Cody Belcher (Josie); and her great-grandchildren, Aria, Jacob, Addison, and Matthew Gonzales, Sebastian and Katalina Blundell, William and Oliver Rossal, Ava and Juddson Belcher, and Shilo Belcher.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th, at 10:30 a.m. at Perches Funeral Home at La Paz–Grahams.
