A Life of Grace, Devotion, and Celebration
Roberta (Bobby) Boney Myers, a lifelong resident of
Las Cruces, New Mexico, was born on June 27, 1937, to Robert and Evelyn Boney. She lived a life defined by compassion, joy, and unwavering love for others. A proud graduate of New Mexico State University in 1959, Bobby spent the next seven years shaping young minds as a second grade teacher-bringing warmth, creativity, and patience into every classroom she entered. She was the beloved wife of Greeley W Myers for 66 years, and their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, faith, and the kind of welcome that made everyone feel like family. Before dementia gently softened her vibrant spirit, Bobby was known for her vivacity, intelligence, and deep generosity. She celebrated life's smallest moments with great joy and taught her children to do the same. Her holiday tables were legendary, not just for their beauty, but for the way they made everyone feel seen, cherished, and at home. She was a devoted mother who never missed a school concert, play, or athletic event. Her children always knew she'd be there-front row, cheering, and beaming with pride. Her care extended beyond her family, as she lovingly tended to the elderly in her community. Her children often joked that she "collected old people," a reflection of her boundless compassion and instinct to nurture. What they now understand is that she saw every person as worthy of love and dignity-and she made it her mission to ensure they felt it. Her faith was central to her life; she served St. Paul's United Methodist Church with quiet strength and tireless devotion and extended that commitment through many leadership capacities at the district and conference levels. She also dedicated many years to the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls on the state and international level. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Bobby" by hundreds of young women across the state. She mentored, encouraged, and loved them as her own-leaving an indelible mark on generations of future leaders. Bobby also found joy and friendship as a member of the Las Cruces P.E.O. chapter, where she shared in the organization's mission of supporting women's education and empowerment. Her presence was a gift to the sisterhood-gracious, thoughtful, and always ready to lend a hand or a kind word. She is survived by her husband, Greeley W. Myers; her daughter Patricia Myers of Houston, Texas, wife Janet Kramer, and granddaughter Alexandra Kramer; her son Greeley R. Myers of Winchester, Virginia, wife Carrie, and grandchildren Grant Myers, Nolan Myers, and Emma Myers. She is also survived by her brother Ed Boney of San Marcos, Texas, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Boney and her sister Patricia Barnhill. The family wishes to thank the incredible staff of Desert Willows Memory Care at the Villages of Northrise and Sierra Hospice for their compassionate and loving care. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort and dignity to Bobby in her final chapter, and their support will never be forgotten. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church,
