Cleta Ann Kintner, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Rolla, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Irma (Clark) Southard. Cleta was a proud graduate of St. James High School. Her deep love for children led her to run a daycare for over 60 years, nurturing generations with patience, kindness, and devotion.

Cleta found joy in simple pleasures-time spent with family, relaxing by the Osage River, and traveling whenever the opportunity arose. Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Kintner; son, Arnold Bailey Jr.; stepson, Scott Kintner; daughters, Jean Reed and Pam Spalding (Shane); stepdaughter, Krista Shively; brother, Fred Southard; sister, Sharon Brown; grandchildren, Jamie Reed, Mike Reed, Trey Bailey, Adam Bailey, Abbi Schulte, Devon Werdehausen, and Derek Spalding; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy, Harold, James, and Glendon Southard, and her grandson, Chris Reed.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Jefferson City HALO, an organization close to Cleta's heart.

Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com
