Cletus Ray Counts Sr., age 82, passed away at his home near Sikeston, Mo., on Friday, January 30, 2026.
He was born June 12, 1943, at Charleston, MO, to the late Clifford Henry Counts and Alta Verona Lamborne Counts. He was a farmer and a very hard worker. He worked from sun up to sun down most days.
Surviving are his children, Mary Carla Lawson of Sikeston and Anthony (Marcella) Counts of Dexter, MO; his brothers Henry (Wanda) Counts and Kenneth Counts both of East Prairie; his sister, Nita Jo Counts also of East Prairie; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Shelley Counts; one son, Cletus Ray Counts Jr.; brothers, Bill Counts and Carl Counts; and his sisters, Christine Cogdill, Trudy High and Marie Lucy Kohne.
Private services will be held.
McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
