Azle, Texas - Clifford Lee Alexander, age 80, passed away on January 20, 2022.
Funeral: 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet.
Clifford was born to Ivan Lee Alexander and Loree Eunice Burdett Alexander at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was baptized in 1951 at Fernwood Baptist Church. Clifford graduated from Alvarado High School in 1961 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Transportation. Between October 1961 and October 1965, Clifford served in the United States Air Force. His service allowed him to travel to places near and far, including New Jersey, Turkey, the Philippines, and Abilene, Texas.
Clifford married Peggy Jane Wood on August 7, 1981. They enjoyed 40 wonderful years together. Clifford and Peggy worked in the transportation industry and following retirement they enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Some of their favorite travels included Yellowstone National Park, Italy, and Banff National Park in Canada. Clifford also enjoyed spending time watching sporting events.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, Jeffrey (Keille) Alexander, James (Alma) Alexander, Jayson (Lori) Wood, and Jody (Jenny) Wood; grandchildren, Tadd, Anthony, Paloma, Jamie, Sarah, Justin, Hunter, Nolan, Mitchell, Morgan, and Rylie; great-grandchildren, Lily, Katie, and Henry; his sister, Sharon Waldron, and many other family and friends.
