Clifford V. Bard, 88, passed away on November 24, 2025, after a long illness. Clifford was born in Niskayuna, New York, on February 14, 1937, and it was in this very town that he peacefully drew his last breath, surrounded by the rolling fields he so dearly loved.
Clifford's life was one deeply rooted in the soil of his hometown. Growing up on his family's farm, he learned the value of hard work and dedication, assisting his father in the daily operations. His commitment to agriculture only deepened over time, and he eventually took over the farm, with the same care and passion that had been passed down to him and now to his sons.
While tending to his farm, Clifford also served his community through his work as an equipment operator, first with the Town of Niskayuna Highway Department and later with the Niskayuna Landfill. His work ethic and handy nature made him a respected figure, and his kind demeanor won him the affection of many. Clifford was dedicated to his work until his retirement, which was prompted by his illness.
Clifford's interests painted the picture of a man who loved life's simple pleasures. A fan of NASCAR, he could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers. His love for old movies provided a window into bygone eras, and his enjoyment of fairs, tractor pulls, and classic car shows spoke to his appreciation for tradition and community gatherings.
He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa Miller Bard on June 16th, 2019.
He is survived by his two sons, Clif and Scott Bard both of Niskayuna; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rita and Joseph Weaver.
The family would like to thank Clifford's Aid, Michelle for all of her care and dedication through his illness.
