A Memorial Service for Clifford T. Fevold of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00AM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Spruce Cemetery in Roseau, MN.
Clifford Thorlin Fevold was born May 6, 1932, in Reine Township (Pencer) to Norris Charles and Mabel (Folling) Helene Fevold. Clifford had two siblings: Ordean and Shirley (Neumiller). He went to school in Reine Township. When he was 14, his family moved to Roseau where he attended high school and later worked for the Rural Electric Cooperative (REA). Shortly afterwards, Cliff attended Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson, MN for a year and one half, then enlisted in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1951. After enlisting, and recruit training. Cliff served one year in the Korean War and one year in Yokohama, Japan. In 1954, Cliff returned to Roseau on leave, where he met Jeanine Carolyn Jenson, the daughter of Millard and Arene (Skoglund) Jenson. Clifford proposed to her just 9 days after they met. They were married on April 17, 1954 in a double ceremony with his sister Shirley and Brother in law Jack Neumiller. Cliff and Jeanine were stationed in Missouri when he got his orders to report to Germany. Jeanine followed Cliff shortly afterwards as he served a nine-month tour of duty; then later, at the army base in Shirley, Massachusetts, where our daughter, April, was born in 1956; two years later, Rockford (1958), was born in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Cliff and Jeanine and kids April (18 months) and Rockford (6 months) were restationed to Paris, France traveling by army ship. Cliff was stationed there for 4 years. In 1960, while stationed in France, Jeffrey (third child) was born, and Braden in 1962; both born in the Paris Military Hospital. Cliff, Jean and kids returned to the U.s. in late 1962, where Cliff was stationed in El Paso, Texas; There the fifth and last child, Brick, was born in 1964. In 1965, Cliff was sent to Weierhof, Germany, where he (with family) served for 2 years. Cliff kept busy by climbing on the roofs of the base buildings putting up antennas so that the Americans could watch american tv. After that, he had orders to serve in Thailand, then to Heidelberg, Germany. His last orders came to serve in Vietnam where he served from July 21-July 20th 1971. Upon his safe return, Cliff's last service before retirement was spent at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. During his 21 yr military career Cliff and Jeanine made many wonderful friends and some have kept in touch since. March 31, 1972 Cliff finally retired.
He and Jeanine settled permanently in Roseau where they bought Jeanine's parents' farm (Millard and Irene Jenson) and started a television and appliance store business called "Fevold's TV and Appliance." In 1980, Cliff and Jeanine expanded the family business by acquiring the old Mobil Gas Station where they later relocated the TV and appliance business to combine both businesses at the same location that continued in operation until the 2000s. During this time, Cliff also taught electronics at Roseau High School. After retiring from business life, Cliff focused his interests and time on family, farming, HAM radio and computers. He enjoyed volunteering to drive veterans to medical appointments to Grand Forks and Fargo.
During his retirement years he was invited to Bible study at the Free Lutheran Church in Roseau. He enjoyed studying the Bible and gave his life to the Lord, He continued listening to teachings and grew in his faith. He will be greatly remembered for his kindness and generosity to everyone he met. Always willing to lend a helping hand.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Mabel Fevold and his brother Ordean Fevold and nephew Dean Scott Fevold.
He was survived by his loving and supportive wife Jeanine, children April (David) Rugland (Roseau); Rockford Fevold (Roseau); Jeffrey (Rhonda) Fevold (Pencer); Braden (Teresa) Fevold (Roseau); Brick (Kathryn) Fevold (Bemidji), and sister Shirley Nuemillar (Warroad). Nephew Tim (Muriel) Fevold (Roseau); Bradley(Teresa) Fevold, Az, Tanya (Tim) Lapelle (Ojai, CA). Mike(Emmelyn) Neumiller (Williams), Pat (Julie) Neumiller (Baudette), Craig (Lori) Neumiller (Red Lake Falls), Shanda (Jon) Olsen (Warroad), Jack(Edie) Neumiller (Warroad). Cliff was fondly known as Pepe to Grandchildren: Bryce (Jes) Sullivan (Bozeman,MT); Tarah (Kendall) Olmstead (Roseau); Tansy (Steve) Hoppe (Crookston); Kasey (Mike) Johnson (Fort Frances, OT); Casey Larsen (Roseau); Kelby Fevold (Roseau); Derek Fevold (Roseau): Jordan (Chelsea) Fevold (Walker); Matthew Fevold (Minneapolis); Liana Fevold (Roseau); Zachary Fevold (Duluth). His 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Plus many of Jeanine's family members, Clifford's favorite verse and prayer was the Lord's prayer.
