Clifford "Snake" Treadway. 79, of McCurtain passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at his home. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on December 26, 1944 to John Treadway Jr. and Opal Inez (Wright) Treadway. He was raised in Chandler, Arizona and moved to Lequire, and then McCurtain as a young man with his family. He served his country with the United States Army as a Paratrooper during the Viet Nam era. He was married to Glenda Labor on February 6,1971 in McCurtain where they made their home. Clifford was a hard working man and began a career as a mining electrician for many years. He was also a lifelong rancher who loved raising cattle. He began a hog operation for Cargill Industries for many years. He operated C T Roustabout Service as well as a rock quarries. Clifford adored his grandkids and great grandkids, he loved taking them fishing and crawdad hunting. He was an avid gardener that loved his time spent in the garden. His water features were a beautiful talent, he especially loved flowers, he saw that Glenda had a fresh bouquet each morning.
He is survived by his wife Glenda Treadway of the home; two daughters, Sheila Falconer and husband David of Tom Bean, Texas, Holly Hinton and husband David of McCurtain; four grandchildren, Scarlett, Heidi, Rachel, and Paul; three great grandchildren, Braxton, Hudson, and Everliegh; three sisters, Carolyn Lovell of McCurtain, Betty Chase of Muldrow, Debra Stephens and husband Bobby of Cameron; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Opal Treadway; a brother, Terry Treadway.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at McCurtain First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Tommie Parker officiating. The Eulogist will be Mr. Denver Bowen. Pallbearers will be Shannon McClary, Jerry Lovell Jr., Kendall Lovell, Kelly Lovell, Michael Myers, Gaylon Hampton, Terry Winn. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Thompson, Larry Dill, Burel Lovell and Larry Stiles. Burial with Military Honors by VFW Post #4446 will follow at Miners Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
