Clifton K. Elmore, 64 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away January 13, 2024.
We lost a bright light with the passing of Clifton Elmore on January 13th, 2024. Born on August 7, 1959, in Marks, Mississippi, to Roberta Elmore, Clifton graduated from Coahoma High School in 1977 and went on to earn an Associate in Drafting and Design at Coahoma Community College. Clifton's faith in Jehovah was his cornerstone. He was a baptized member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Clifton most recently attended the Brighton congregation where he dedicated himself to bible study, the ministry, and fellowship with his spiritual brothers and sisters.
Clifton Elmore was a jack of all trades and an expert plumber. He was a proud entrepreneur and owner of Solo Sewers and Drains. After retiring from the Johnson County Water District in 2013, Clifton then turned his skills to building maintenance with the city of Kansas City, playing a key role in the plumbing at the new Kansas City airport.
Beyond his dedication to his professional and spiritual pursuits, Clifton cherished spending time with his family, fishing with his Uncle Eddie (deceased), and telling his legendary dad jokes to anyone who would listen (A String Walks into a Bar). He was an avid basketball player in his youth and enjoyed watching basketball and football games with his daughter who shared his love of sports.
Clifton leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his former wife Melanie Elmore, daughter Clinique' Elmore, and daughter Ashley Elmore. He is also survived by his siblings: L.C. (Patricia) Elmore, Lucille (née Elmore) Ball, Jesse (Lula Mae) Elmore, Jeffrey (Cleester) Elmore, Jerry Elmore, Christine Elmore, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Clifton was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Elmore, siblings Johnny Elmore, Mary (née Elmore) Ball, Bertha (née Elmore) Hall, and Frederick (Elmore) Squalls.
Clifton Elmore will always be remembered for his unmatched work ethic, his calm spirit, his generosity, his sense of humor, and his ability to make us laugh uncontrollably. We could not have asked for a better father, brother, and friend. We were each touched by his presence, and we are all better off for it. His lessons of hard work, kindness, and humor reverberate in our hearts, and his infectious laughter will forever echo in the ears of all those who loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Visitation at 11:00 am Funeral Service Friday, January 26th, 2024, Marcom-Harvey Funeral Care 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd Kansas City, MO 64138.
